The village of Deiva Marina is splendidly located
half way between Portofino and the
Cinque Terre, in a gorgeous setting among the Mar
Ligure, the Apennines and the valley of the torrente Castagnola. The settlement
is made up of two parts: the historical centre (whose first core was built in
the Early Middle Ages), dominated by the parish church and traversed by narrow
carruggi, and the Marina, a more recent district by the sea. Everywhere, the
style of the Genoese architectures rule - colourful façades dotted by lively
windows boast their trompe l’oeil character.
